The Amazing Spider-Man #361 (released in April 1992) is a landmark issue in Spider-Man's history, as it marks the first full appearance of Carnage.

The story, titled "Savage Genesis", follows Cletus Kasady, a psychotic serial killer who bonds with a symbiote, transforming into the deadly Carnage. Unlike Venom, Carnage is far more violent and unpredictable. In this issue, Carnage begins his murderous rampage, killing a classmate of Peter Parker at Empire State University.

As Spider-Man investigates the killings, he initially suspects Venom but soon realizes that Carnage is an entirely new and more dangerous threat. With the body count rising, Peter understands that he can't defeat Carnage alone, leading him to make a risky decision—he must free Venom to help him fight this new menace.

This issue kicked off the Carnage arc, which became one of the most iconic storylines in Spider-Man comics.
