Batman / Fortnite FAQ

WHAT ARE IN-GAME ITEMS/OUTFITS IN FORTNITE?

Every player in Fortnite can choose their own in-game character and customize the character’s cosmetic appearance. They can customize their in-game character appearance (Outfits) and in-game accessories (Pickaxes, Gliders, Back Blings, etc.), and even how they celebrate or interact with other players (Emotes).

Traditionally, players buy these items with V-Bucks, the in-game currency used in Fortnite.

HOW CAN FORTNITE PLAYERS GET ACCESS TO THE BATMAN/FORTNITE IN-GAME ITEMS?

There are 3 ways to get the items that are a part of the Batman/Fortnite crossover event:

  1. Purchase print versions of the Batman/Fortnite comic books from your local comics shop. The print version of each of the comic book issues contains 1 unique code that unlocks that issue’s in-game item. If you redeem the code from all six issues of the Batman/Fortnite crossover, you’ll receive a bonus Armored Batman Zero Outfit. The hardcover collected edition, available on September 7, 2021, collects all 6 comic books and includes 1 unique code that unlocks all 7 items.
  2. A paid subscription to DC UNIVERSE INFINITE gives fans day and date access to all 6 comic books in digital format, and 1 unique code per issue will be provided to paying subscribers who read the issue for the same in-game items as the physical comic books.
  3. Purchase the in-game items directly in the Fortnite game, with V-Bucks.*

Note: Code redemption can be from digital or physical issues, or a combination of both. In order to get the bonus Armored Batman Zero Outfit, all six codes must be redeemed on the same Epic Games account.

*The suggested retail price of a Batman/Fortnite comic book is $4.99 ($5.99 for a card stock variant cover). While the in-game cost of items varies by item, the item featured in Issue #2 (the Batman Zero Wing Glider) is currently 1,200 V-Bucks. The Fortnite store currently sells 1,000 V-Bucks for $7.99.

HOW DO FORTNITE PLAYERS GET THESE OUTFITS AND OTHER ITEMS WITHOUT BUYING COMICS?

Fortnite players must have an Epic Games account to maintain a V-Bucks balance. You can find out more about how V-Bucks work at Fortnite’s V-Bucks FAQ.

The Rebirth Harley Quinn Outfit is exclusive to DC comics codes from the release of issue #1 on April 20, 2021 until June 2021. All other items will be sold in Fortnite’s store the same day they become available through the comic redemption codes.

WHAT ITEMS DO I GET FROM THE COMICS, WHEN DO THEY COME OUT, AND WHEN ARE THESE ITEMS SOLD IN FORTNITE’S STORE?

Batman Zero Wing Glider May 4 May 4
Catwoman's Grappling Claw Pickaxe May 18 May 18

DO I NEED TO REDEEM CODES FROM ALL SIX ISSUES TO GET THE VARIANT ARMORED BATMAN ZERO OUTFIT AT NO ADDITIONAL COST?

Yes. The Armored Batman Zero Outfit will be provided at no additional cost if you redeem a code from each of the 6 issues or if you redeem the code from the hardcover collected edition. Code redemption can actually be from digital or physical issues, or a combination of both. In order to get the bonus Armored Batman Zero Outfit, all six codes must be redeemed on the same Epic Games account. However, if, for example, you redeem 5 codes but purchase the 6th item from Fortnite’s store, you will not be eligible to receive the Armored Batman Zero Outfit at no additional cost. In this case, you would need to purchase the Armored Batman Zero Outfit in the Fortnite store separately (or redeem the sixth code).

WHAT IS DC’s POLICY ON RETURNING PHYSICAL COPIES OF BATMAN/FORTNITE?

Comics are non-returnable

DOES THE BATMAN/FORTNITE SERIES PROVIDE AN IMPORTANT INSIGHT INTO THE WORLD OF FORTNITE?

Yes! Batman/Fortnite delves into the storytelling and characters behind iconic Fortnite concepts like the Zero Point and the Island (the location where Fortnite takes place), as well as foundational issues like why all of these characters from different worlds are converging (and fighting), why the characters can’t speak, and why they can’t access their memories from before arriving in Fortnite.

WHY HAVEN’T I RECEIVED MY CODE FROM MY DIGITAL VERSION OF THE COMIC?

In order to receive the digital code, you must read the digital version of the comic on DC UNIVERSE INFINITE with a paid subscription (US only). Following this, be on the lookout for an email from DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (please allow 24 hours to receive).

NOTE: Codes are not available in digital versions of the comic which are sold individually. The only way to get codes through a digital platform is with a paid subscription to DC UNIVERSE INFINITE (available in the US only).
